Three Layer Evolution Model for XML Stored in Relational Databases

چکیده

XML-relational systems with well defined XML and relational schemas are widely used in industry. In the presence of rapidly changing requirements both schemas of such a model need continuous evolution, which can be performed by a formal framework that describes the evolution of the mutually dependent schema pairs of the system as sequences of elementary schema transformations. There are a number of common tasks, like relational schema performance tuning, XML syntax clean-up, etc that stand apart from changes of semantics of the schemas. We discuss a framework with three layers of operations: the changes in XML schema only, the semantic changes that affect both schemas, and the changes that affect relational schema only. We show how the layered framework allows to formalize and address the above mentioned tasks. We consider the formal quality of the solutions of the tasks that may be achieved inside the framework.

Apply Uncertainty in Document-Oriented Database (MongoDB) Using F-XML

As moving to big data world where data is increasing in unstructured way with high velocity, there is a need of data-store to store this bundle amount of data. Traditionally, relational databases are used which are now not compatible to handle this large amount of data, so it is needed to move on to non-relational data-stores. In the current study, we have proposed an extension of the Mongo...

Referencial Integrity Model for XML Data Integrated from Heterogeneous Databases Systems - Using the Power of XML for Consistent Data Integration

This article presents a proposal for maintenance of the referential integrity in data integrated from relational heterogeneous databases stored in XML materialized views. The central idea is the creation of a repository of rules that will have to be observed to if carrying through any operation of update in the mediating layer of a system for integration of heterogeneous relational sources of d...

3D_XML: A Three-Dimensional XML-Based Model

Much research work has recently focused on the problem of representing historical information in XML. In this paper, we describe an ongoing work to represent XML changes. Our model is a three-dimensional XML-based model (3D_XML in short) for representing and querying histories of XML documents. The proposed model incorporates three time dimensions, valid time, transaction time, and efficacy tim...

Supporting XML Security Models Using Relational Databases: A Vision

As the secure distribution and sharing of information over the World Wide Web becomes increasingly important, the needs for flexible and efficient support of access control systems naturally arise. Since the eXtensible Markup Language (XML) is emerging as the format of the Internet era for storing and exchanging information, there have been, recently, many proposals to extend the XML model to i...
